A Suffolk County television report quoted a physician noting that a tick attached for only a few hours carries essentially zero transmission risk, which is a detail the test itself cannot measure. That is an important reality check. Knowing a tick was infected does not by itself tell a family how much danger they actually faced, since attachment time still drives the real infection risk.
The Accuracy Question Nobody Has Fully Answered Yet
The company’s frequently asked questions page claims “lab-level accuracy,” and some company materials cite comparisons to PCR testing, considered a gold standard in laboratories.
