Alternatively, Dr. Geria said you should cleanse at night to remove dirt but rinse your face in the morning with warm water. You can also do a once-a-day wash every night to limit irritation. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), you can simply wash your face after the gym or a hot yoga class.

Geria said you must consider your habits, makeup, and daily activities. This can let you know what products you use and how to wash your skin. For instance, if you wear makeup, you could use a makeup remover like makeup removing balm on tough-to-remove lipstick before washing your skin.

Geria also said you can follow these steps:

● Apply facial cleanser in a circular motion using your fingertips. You should

pay close attention to your jawline and T-zone.

● Rinse well

● Dry your face with a clean towel.

Saedi said you should wash your face for 30 seconds or longer. In the long run, you need time to properly remove oil and dirt.
